1. Consider The Flow And Lighting

Often times the foyer and entryway are left last in the design plans because it's not the kitchen or a bedroom. But what many forget is that the entrance makes the first impression. Remember to keep the entry light and bright or fun and bright. You can do this by installing a light fixture, painting the walls light to keep it light and bright. If light colored paint isn't your taste, try adding a fun wallpaper with a simple pattern with a light fixture. Lighting especially helps if windows aren't located at the front door.

2. Furniture Can Be Used As A Focal Point

At Amei Interiors we love a round table at the entry. It covers principles and elements of interior design and is fitting for pretty much any type of home. Using the image above, a round table creates flow and a restful feeling. The Element of a round table is Lines and the Principle is Scale and Proportion. The chairs situated in corners makes the space a conversational area and, if away from other conversational areas such as a living room, will act as a private conversational space.

3. Add Personality With Eye-catching Artwork

Pay attention to the color, shapes, and sizes, framed, or non-framed artwork in a home. If you don't want an eclectic orientation for your wall of art you will want to avoid hanging artwork that doesn't have a frame the same color as another. If the frame is white on one, choose white for all of the frames. Depending on your design style, it will be fine to mix and match frames. Usually for clients who like eclectic, industrial, or mid-century modern as examples. If you want a chic and luxe appearance to your wall of art, pick and choose artwork from the same artist. Doing this will save you time and thinking trust me.

4. Add Storage

Storage is timeless and will never go out of style. Adding a coat rack at the door keeps the space clean. Other storage items you will want to consider is a umbrella holder, hat rack, baskets or storage ottomans under a console table. All of those items will help have you clean foyer.

5. Adding A Mirror Will Open Up And Expand The Space For You
