1. Multi-Functional Spaces
The last two years have threw many families into a ruckus. Many families had to remodel their homes to accommodate Mom, Dad, the kids or child, Grandma and Grandpa, the cousins, and whomever else lives under the same roof to process some form of normalcy for long hours at a time and still allow for things to get done. We now live, work, and play at home. We don't know how long this trend will last but what we do know is that multi-functional spaces aren't going away any time soon.

Make Room.
While Amei Interiors doesn't encourage TV's or the home office to be in a bedroom, times like these don't allow many home owners or those who are renting apartments the luxury of having that option. For instance, placing the TV in your bedroom allows you to turn to a music channel to tune in to a spa music channel for relaxation. Having your office in your bedroom will open up an alternative bedroom for a family member. Or, here's another tip... especially if you have a walk in pantry so your home office is big enough... this is great for you. Turn your pantry in to your home office. Place any goods from the pantry in to your kitchen cabinets.
2. Smart Furniture And Storage Solutions
As previously mentioned, many people are looking for layout solutions at home. Your level or comfort in your home will mentally affect how you live. One principle of design that depends highly on the flow of a home is furniture placement and furniture design. Probably falling under the principle rhythm, flow brings a sense of movement to a space. The eye follows a pathway. Subconsciously, the eye will scan a space and judge it impromptu. How your furniture is designed shapes your decision to purchase furniture. Having storage inside the sofa, ottoman, or within the entertainment console will give you more options to hide things- making your space clutter free.

3. The New Traditional Modern Home
Traditional furniture today now sparkles and shines! This new old trend sometimes looks whimsical. One of Amei Interiors' favorite looks. Mixing and matching styles and colors has been around for years. But the look of traditional furniture and how it looks has been tweaked with modernized techniques. The link between modern and traditional homes has not always been a known style. Transitional has been a style for quite some time- a balanced blend of traditional and contemporary furnishings and decor. Traditional modern styled homes are full on personality!

4. Nature-Inspired Interior Design And The Color Green

The Workshop Begins!
This beautiful health-focused restaurant by Masquespacio reflects the local landscape in Huesca, Spain. Although this trend currently exist over seas, keep in mind that trends spread worldwide. This team of designers proposed to work with all natural materials and incorporate nature into the space. To do this, their team researched the local area of Huesca and started to discover the beauty of the nearby parks and mountains.

Like in a forest, the pathway is nonlinear. Photography by Masquespacio.
They made use of earth tones accented by a dash of gold, biomorphic forms and textures. The purposely imperfect pathways throughout the restaurant were intentionally created to mirror that of a forest.

The use of terracotta was presented for the floors, bars and some of the walls. This tile was specially designed by Masquespacio for Pukkel. Photography by Masquespacio.

5. Rounded Ends
Making a comeback is rounded furniture and I'm not talking about a c-shaped sofa. We're talking about complete and coordinated furniture pieces and sets. Dining chairs, dining tables, circular area rugs, round oblique coffee tables, mirrors and are just a few that you will start to find more and more that are rounded around their edges.
